Thomas, Cam  LSU 6'4" 209 SG frosh.

Cam Thomas is a right handed guard with NBA speed and positional size. His ability to create and hit shots is impressive. Many of his moves will have crowds buzzing. He averaged 23.0 points, and 3.4 rebounds per game as a freshman in the SEC. He did so with a "stone-face" that looked the same whether he was struggling or dominating. He shot 32% from three-point range but was an excellent 88.2% at the free throw line (led the SEC). He also led the conference in free-throw attempts, offering a glimpse of his ability to break down defenses. ...Defensively, LSU was light-years better with Thomas OFF the floor. (The actual number was 6.7 points per 100 possessions.) Obviously, Thomas' defensive shortcomings will have to be addressed for him to see the floor in an NBA game. ...Accurate shooting players with the ability to create their own shot should be coveted. Thomas will have to prove he will play some defense but his potential on offense is being underrated by the consensus in this Draft. We believe he will be selected in the late first round. ...We think Thomas is a potentially special scorer in the NBA and we would select him as high as late-lottery.

Our best advice: in 2018, the 9th pick was Kevin Knox. We advised, "draft Mikal Bridges."
