Toppin is a skilled, right-handed PF that was the consensus National Player of the Year in 2019-20. He can make deep perimeter shots, and his decision making is sound. He is a lob threat that can finish well above the rim. He runs the floor well. He sets good, wide screens, and rolls to the rim with a purpose. He can also play pick-n-pop w/ range well beyond the arc. Toppin averaged 20 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2. assists in 2019-20. He shot 63.3% FG, 39% 3-pt FG, and 70.2% FT. ...He is a good teammate that is a willing passer but he did have more turnovers than assists in each of his two NCAA seasons. He has a high basketball IQ. Toppin is the career leader in Atlantic-10 boxscore plus/minus. …Strikes me as a nice kid that is a wiling listener. Much has been made about Toppin's perceived defensive liabilities. He doesn't slide his feet as well as some would like. We think his overall skill overrides any worries about defense. Dayton was 3.4 points per 100 possessions better on defense with Toppin on the floor. We believe Toppin is a future top-ten player at his position, and among the safest picks in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Good advice... In 2011, the 4th pick was Tristan Thompson. We advised, "draft Kawhi Leonard."
