Tyson is a right-handed scorer. He is wired to light up the scoreboard but he also rebounds well for his size. Tyson played for three teams in three seasons in college (Texas, Texas Tech, and Cal). Tyson averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 2023-24. He shot 36% 3-pt FG, and 79.6% FT. Tyson was named First Team All Pac-12. Clearly, Tyson was the main-man at Cal. He scored in the mid-range well and he had some ferocious dunks in transition. He led the Pac-12 in usage. He had slightly more assists than turnovers and he needs to grow in his guard skills. We think he needs to tighten up his handles. Tyson's DEFRTG was slightly better than the Cal team DEFRTG and he has the potential to be better. We thought he coasted at times on defense which may have had to do with the load he carried as Cal's primary guy. He tested with a 36.5" max. vert. at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. He has a 6'8" wingspan. We think Tyson will be drafted late in the first round. We view him as a potential low-tier starter in the #NBA. See video
