Wells is a late bloomer with a smooth, accurate jump shot. The 20 year-old averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Wells shot 41.7% 3-pt. FG, and 81.4% FT. Wells is trustworthy with the ball and he knows his role as a shooter. He posted a 1.86-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Wells is 6'6.5" but his wingspan is just 6'7.25". He was a minus-defender at Washington State. His DEFRTG was 4.2 points worse than the Cougars' team DEFRTG. Wells posted a 36" max. vert. at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. He is right handed. Wells was 5'8" as a high school freshman. He was under-recruited, and went to Sonoma State for his freshman and sophomore seasons. He played last season at Washington State. He will likely be drafted in the middle of round two. We just don't think he's there yet as a player that can separate himself from the DEEP pool of similarly sized wings. We think he would be a deep bench guy in the NBA that would have to prove himself in the G-League first. (see video)
