Wesley averaged 14.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a Fighting Irish Freshman. He had slightly more assists (84) than turnovers (77). Wesley is an upside play by whoever drafts him. Right now, he is a 19 year-old, low percentage shooter (30.3% 3-pt. FG, 65% FT) but his athleticism and youth lead most scouts to believe he will become a bona-fide NBA player, in time. He made plays at NBA speed that stood out. In transition, especially, Wesley was often spectacular. Right handed but he uses his left well. Tested with a 36" max. vert at the NBA Draft Combine. ...Wesley was a high usage player at Notre Dame. In the NBA, we don't foresee him being such a focal point of an offense, even given his quick first step. Wesley has a 6'9.25" wingspan and his DEFRTG was just a tick behind the team DEFRTG of Notre Dame. We think the shooting component of his game has a ways to go and whoever drafts him will likely need patience. The landscape of NBA two-guards is DEEP. That is why we list him much lower than the consensus.
