White, Derrick  Colorado 6'5" 193 PG SR. White had a late growth spurt taking him from 6'0" to 6'5" in his transition year out of high school. He was not on any D-1 schools "want list" so he played D-II ball and dominated. White played three seasons at UCCS (Division II) before transferring to Colorado for his final season of college eligibility. He was excellent at Colorado this season and then he backed up his stellar play with a strong showing at the NBA Draft Combine. White averaged 18.1 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in 2016-17. He shot 50.6% FG (impressive for a PG), 39.6% 3-pt. FG, and 81% FT. ...White's assist-to-turnover ratio was 1.83-to-1. ...White's wingspan is 6'7.5" (same as Damian Lillard and Jeff Teague). ...White's max. vert. was 36.5" (same as Jeff Teague and Trey Burke). Defensively, White held his own, posting a DEFRTG only marginally worse than the Colorado team DEFRTG. ...White adds to the depth at point guard in the 2017 NBA Draft. In the grand scheme, White was initially slept on due to his lack of size. The growth spurt changed his ability and the scouting world is just now catching up. White earned First Team All Pac-12, and then stood out as an invite to the Portsmouth Invitational. White was then asked to compete at the Draft Combine. He's passed each test. I see value in Derrick White. He is the kind of player I'd be willing to trade down for. If his range is really late first round to early second, why not try to snag him in the 20's?

Good advice: In 2014, the 21st pick in the NBA Draft was Mitch McGary. We advised, "Draft Kyle Anderson."
