Whitmore was a big-time recruit for `Nova. He has an extra gear that goes well with his size, strength and quickness. Right handed. He can handle enough to create separation, and he uses either hand well when finishing. Whitmore averaged 12.5 points, and 5.3 rebounds per game as a freshman at Villanova. He was the Big East "Rookie of the Year". He shot 34.3% from three-point range, and he shot 70.3% FT. He has a nice resume, including being MVP of the FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship. He was a McDonald's All-American. Whitmore is not the most trusting teammate. He would much rather take a tough shot himself than share it. That will HAVE to change or his teammates will hate playing with him. He had just 19 assists in over 700 minutes! He turned it over more than twice for every assist. We believe Whitmore will be taken among the first ten picks. He is among the youngest players in the Draft. He has unquestionable upside but we think it will take some time before he contributes to winning NBA basketball.
