Williams, Jalen  Santa Clara 6'6" 209 SF jr.

Williams was a star for Santa Clara. He is a "late bloomer" that grew about eight inches from his sophomore to senior year of high school. The 6'6" wing averaged 18 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists as a junior at Santa Clara. He shot 39.6% 3-PT FG, and 80.9% FT. His 1.98-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio is as good as many point guards. He uses both hands well and can make one-handed zip passes that others struggle with. He was named First Team All West Coast Conference. He led the WCC in total points scored. Williams is aggressive offensively. He will give himself a chance. He does a good job of drawing fouls. At the NBA Combine he jumped a max. vert. of 39" which pairs well with his extraordinary length (7'2.25" wingspan on a 6'6" frame!). Defensively, despite his great length, Santa Clara was better defensively by 1.8 points per 100 possessions with Williams off the floor. ...We think Williams will be a starter in the NBA in the future. He was the only player in the NCAA to average 18.0 ppg, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 56% from 2-point range and 41% from beyond the arc. He can do whatever is needed on offense. Williams' parents are Ronald and Nicole Williams, who were both members of the U.S. Air Force.

Our best advice: in 2012, the 32nd pick was Tomas Satoransky. We advised, "draft Draymond Green."
