Williams, Mark  Duke  7'2" 242 C soph.

Williams averaged 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.8 blocked shots per game as a vital cog for a good Duke team. The right-handed sophomore anchored the Blue Devils defense. Duke was 6.1 points per 100 possessions better defensively with Williams on the floor. His standing reach is 9'9"! He was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. He doesn't just block shots. He changes many as well. He takes charges. Offensively, Williams understands his role. He shoots near the basket, which is why he shot 72% FG in 2021-22. He is a 72.7% foul shooter. Williams had one more turnover than assist this season. Williams is the ACC career leader in boxscore plus/minus. We expect Williams to be drafted in the second half of the lottery. He projects as a future top-tier starting Center in the NBA. In some respects we think Williams is being underrated.

Our best advice: in 2020, the 7th pick was Killian Hayes. We advised, "draft Tyrese Haliburton."
