Williams, Ziaire Stanford 6'8" 188 SG frosh.

Ziaire was a big-time recruit for Stanford but his season in 2020-21 was anything but great. COVID-19 certainly could have been a factor. Stanford essentially did not have a home floor. Williams, a right handed wing, averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He shot just 29% from 3-pt. range. He did a couple things well. He played solid defense. Stanford was slightly better on defense with Ziaire on the floor. He made free throws (79.6%). He also had Stanford's first triple-double in a game since 2007. ...On the downside, Williams had more turnovers than assists and he shot just 37% FG. …Williams has a impressive resume. He played for the Gold Medal winning Team USA at the FIBA U19 championships (was not very efficient there either). ...We expect him to be drafted in the middle of round one. ...Williams is a hard one to slot in this Draft. He certainly has upside and skill but his lack of efficiency was too mighty for us to WANT to draft him. We would let someone else take a chance on his development.

Our best advice: in 2012, the 33rd pick was Bernard James. We advised, "draft Draymond Green."
