Darius Acuff is a self-assured right-handed point guard with the speed, handle, and confidence to control a game. Acuff averaged 23.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 6.4 assists while shooting 44% from three-point range and 80.9% from the free throw line. He was named First Team NABC All-American and SEC Player of the Year. Acuff also led the SEC in both points and assists. At 6'2" with a 6'6.5" wingspan and a 186-pound frame, Acuff has good length for a point guard. His body is thick, with strong shoulders and a low center of gravity. He tied for the fastest three-quarter court sprint time at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine, and his speed shows in games. Acuff also has an excellent change of pace with the dribble. He can lull his defender to sleep, then quickly rise into a pull-up jumper without needing an extra dribble. He processes the game quickly and creates for others while still being capable of exploding for a huge scoring night himself. Acuff finished eighth in SEC box score plus/minus. Defensively, Acuff was awful. Arkansas was 5.9 points per 100 possessions better defensively with Acuff off the floor. He was not in a proper stance often enough, and he gave very few second efforts. Those mistakes are correctible, but it may take time for him to catch up to what is required to play effective defense in the NBA. We do think Acuff is competitive, and the peer pressure, coaching, and film work at the NBA level should help him improve. Ultimately, we view Acuff as a potential top-tier starting point guard in the NBA.
