Cameron Boozer is a highly skilled right-handed power forward with impeccable footwork, good hands, and a better handle than most bigs. Boozer averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 39.1% from three-point range and 78.9% from the free throw line. He was named National Division I Player of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and was also ACC Player of the Year as a freshman. At 6'8" with a 7'1.5" wingspan and a 253-pound frame, Boozer has excellent strength for a NBA power forward. He may not pop with run-and-jump athleticism, and he does not have a great deal of wiggle or bounce, but there is no questioning his ability to positively impact a game. Boozer led the entire NCAA in box score plus/minus. He also led the ACC in free throw attempts, showing how effectively he forces contact and puts stress on opposing defenses. Though naturally right-handed, he uses his left hand well. Boozer is excellent on the defensive glass and his overall defensive impact was positive. His DEFRTG was 2.7 points better than the Duke team DEFRTG. With his strength, feel, rebounding, scoring touch, passing ability, and production against elite competition, we view Cameron Boozer as a top-tier NBA power forward prospect.
