Tre Carroll is a left-handed forward with several traits we value. Carroll has NBA positional size as a small forward, a positive assist-to-turnover ratio, a career three-point percentage above our threshold, and a positive DDiff. Even if he barely makes the cut on a couple of those benchmarks, there are not many prospects who check all of those boxes. Carroll averaged 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 blocked shots per game this season at Xavier. He was named First Team All-Big East and was also All-Tournament at the Portsmouth Invitational. At 6'7" with a 6'11" wingspan, Carroll has strength and size that allow him to play through contact. He weighed in at 248 pounds at Portsmouth, and he really could use to lose about 25 pounds. We will see in a couple weeks at Summer League. He is also underappreciated as a shot blocker. Carroll played three seasons at Florida Atlantic before finishing his NCAA career at Xavier. He shot 34.5% from three-point range for his career and 72.8% from the free throw line. His 1.16-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio is not flashy, but it is positive. He is aggressive and thirsty to score, leading the Big East in field goal attempts. Carroll is strong enough and has good enough footwork to score in the post against smaller defenders. Defensively, Carroll is a competitor. His DDiff was plus 0.4, and he gets deflections consistently because he stays engaged. His strength, length, shot-blocking, and willingness to compete give him enough defensive substance to pair with his scoring profile. We view Carroll as a potential low-tier starter or top-tier reserve small forward in the NBA. We do not foresee him being drafted. He should be among any team’s first calls for Summer League.

Our best advice: in 2021, RaiQuan Gray was drafted 59th. We advised, "draft Austin Reaves."
