Oscar Cluff is a right-handed center from Sunshine Coast, Australia, and he is a large man that knows how to play. Cluff averaged 10.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting 68.3% from the field this season at Purdue. His game is based on power, skill, and positioning. At 6'9" with a 7'3" wingspan and 249 pounds, Cluff has NBA center strength and length. He played two seasons of junior college basketball, then one season at Washington State, one at South Dakota State, and one at Purdue. Cluff led the Big Ten in offensive rebounds this season and finished eighth in Big Ten box score plus/minus. Cluff has good hands, sets good wide screens, and plays with excellent concentration near the basket. He posted a 2.22-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, which is impressive for a center. He is also a capable free throw shooter for a big, making 73.2% from the line for his career. Cluff is not a floor spacer. He attempted only seven three-point shots in three NCAA seasons. His NBA value will likely come from screening, rebounding, interior finishing, passing, and physicality. His DDiff was plus 1.6, showing positive defensive impact. He is below average as a runner and jumper by NBA standards, but he understands positioning and uses his body well. Cluff is not flashy, but he is strong, skilled, productive, and reliable around the basket. Centers that rebound, screen, pass, finish efficiently, and know how to play usually deserve a serious look.

Our best advice: in 2021, Georgios Kalaitzakis was drafted 60th. We advised, "draft Austin Reaves."
