Ryan Conwell is a left-handed guard with a pretty shot and a smooth game. Conwell averaged 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season at Louisville. He shot 37.6% from three-point range for his career and 83.6% from the free throw line. Conwell led the ACC in both three-point field goal attempts and makes this season. At 6'2" with a 6'7" wingspan and a 214-pound frame, Conwell has decent shooting guard size. He played four NCAA seasons at four different schools: South Florida, Indiana State, Xavier, and Louisville. His 1.24-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio this season reflects a scoring guard profile, even though he will occasionally sneak in some flair with a no-look pass. Conwell has a quick release on his jumper and must be respected on the perimeter. According to Synergy, Conwell ranked in the 97th percentile in the NCAA for points per shot on jump shots. He can be a streaky scorer, but the shot-making is real. Conwell is left-handed but uses his right hand well, and he is good at making timely cuts. Defensively, Conwell’s DDiff was minus 1.7. Athletically, however, he tested well at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. He posted the eighth-best lane agility time, tied for 18th in the shuttle run, and jumped a 39.5" max vertical. With his shooting, strength, cutting, athletic testing, and scoring feel, we view Conwell as a potential top-tier reserve shooting guard. We expect him to be selected somewhere around 40th but we like him a bit better than that.

Our best advice: in 2006, Paul Davis was drafted 34th. We advised, "draft P.J. Tucker."
