Isaiah Evans is one of the bigger wild cards in this draft. Evans is a right-handed two guard with a lightning-quick release on his jump shot. When we saw him at his best, he looked incredible as a scorer that can get hot in a hurry. He averaged 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while shooting 36.0% from three-point range and 86.0% from the free throw line. He finished sixth in ACC box score plus/minus. At 6'6" with a 6'8.75" wingspan and a 186-pound frame, Evans needs to get stronger to compete with NBA size guys. ...The best of Evans' game is his shooting. He cannot be left alone. He is capable of making difficult attempts when his rhythm is rolling. Evans is right-handed but uses his left hand well, and he can contort his body for tough finishes around the basket. However, his 1.1-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio reflects a player still more wired to score than to consistently make plays for others. Evans was not very efficient overall, and his shot selection needs seasoning. He is quick to think he is hot, and his swagger sometimes gets the best of him. Defensively, the concerns are real. His DDiff was minus 3.9, and it may take him a while to understand how serious a player needs to be about defense to get on an NBA floor. He also posted the second-slowest lane agility time at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine, which surprised us because he looks like he moves his feet quickly. His max vertical was 35.5". Right now, we view Evans as a low-tier reserve shooting guard with scoring upside. If everything goes right and he matures his game, he might become the kind of player people later wonder how he slipped. We expect him to be taken late in round one. Personally, we would let someone else develop him and circle back later if his game matures.

Our best advice: in 2025, Chaz Lanier was drafted 37th. We advised, "draft Maxime Raynaud."
