Malique Lewis is a right-handed wing from Trinidad and Tobago with a grown man’s body and a head start on several skills needed to exist in the NBA. Lewis averaged 7.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.1 steals in just 21.2 minutes per game this season with South East Melbourne in the Australian NBL. At 6'7" with a 7'1.25" wingspan and 225 pounds, Lewis has NBA positional size (and then some) as a small forward. He can guard multiple positions, and he has already shown defensive impact in different settings. Lewis was a plus defender in the G League as a 19-year-old, and he continued that this season with a plus 2.0 DDiff. The shooting indicators are encouraging. He made 37.5% from three-point range this season and improved as a foul shooter. After making just 64.0% from the free throw line in 2023-24 with Mexico City, Lewis shot 82.6% from the line this season in Australia, though on low volume. He posted a fantastic 2.73-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Lewis also helped himself at Eurocamp 2026. He was an All-Eurocamp Team selection, averaging 12 points, 4.7 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 50.0% from three-point range. The combination of size, defensive versatility, athletic ability, shooting progress, and ball security is rare for a 21-year-old wing. Lewis had to be cleared to play in the NBA by doctors. A pre-existing heart condition led to him not being cleared for the NBA Draft Combine, though he did play at Eurocamp. Obviously, any NBA team would want its medical staff to fully evaluate the risk. We are not certain Lewis will be drafted, but we think he should be. You just do not see many young players with NBA bodies who already have this many usable tools. There is a real chance to land a future NBA reserve wing here.

Our best advice: in 2021, James Bouknight was drafted 11th. We advised, "draft Jalen Johnson."
