Ven-Allen Lubin is a powerful right-handed big who plays with force near the basket. Lubin averaged 13.6 points and 7.1 rebounds this season at N.C. State while leading the ACC in effective field goal percentage and true shooting percentage. At 6'7" with a 7'2" wingspan and 246 pounds, Lubin is an undersized center. He has a large backside that he uses well to leverage space, seal defenders, and create room near the rim. He is a good screen setter, plays with power, and is good on the offensive glass. Lubin is not a floor spacer at this stage. He attempted only 11 three-point shots this season, making 27.0% of them. He did shoot 74.3% from the free throw line. He had 29 assists and 28 turnovers. Defensively, Lubin is willing. He was sometimes tasked with guarding guards, which speaks to his effort, though his DDiff was minus 1.8. The positional question is whether he has enough size to hold up as a center and enough shooting skill to play next to another big. Lubin is not going to be drafted. Still, the strength, screening, offensive rebounding, efficiency, and willingness to defend give him a reason to get G League opportunities.
