Felix Okpara is a right-handed center with NBA tools, shot-blocking ability, and a lot of in-between development still needed. Okpara averaged 8.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocked shots per game at Tennessee. He played his first two college seasons at Ohio State before finishing with two seasons at Tennessee. At 6'10" with a 7'2" wingspan and 237 pounds, Okpara has enough size and length to look the part. He runs well, blocks shots, and dunks. He has a motor the runs strong. According to Synergy Sports, he ranked eighth in the country with 69 dunks. He also jumped a 34.5" max vertical and was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team. The rest of the profile is not as clean. In one of the more head-scratching numbers for any prospect, Okpara’s DDiff was minus 1.8. He is not a great rebounder, not a good ball-handler, and had more than twice as many turnovers as assists. He attempted only 11 three-point shots, making four of them. He also does not look comfortable using his left hand. Okpara moved to the United States in August 2018, settling in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Not to be too harsh on Okpara, but it takes more than a hat to call yourself a chef. Okpara looks the part, but all the in-between stuff needs more reps. We understand the shot-blocking prowess and the athletic tools. Still, we view Okpara as a G League guy. We anticipate him being drafted in the middle of round two, but we do not think he is efficient enough to make a dent in the NBA.
