Koa Peat is a 19-year-old right-handed forward with strength, passing feel, and extensive international experience. Peat averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while posting a 1.6-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He does a good job drawing fouls, uses his off hand well around the hoop, and has a strong upper body with powerful shoulders. At 6'7" with a 6'11.25" wingspan and a 245-pound frame, Peat has NBA positional size as a small forward. He posted a 37.5" max vertical at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. However, for whatever reason, Peat had the slowest shuttle run time at the Combine. Defensively, his DDiff was minus 2.2, though we did see him sacrifice his body to take a charge. Peat is hard to define. What is he in the NBA? In theory, he is a prospect with potential to become a top-tier small forward. The concern is the shooting profile. Peat only attempted 20 three-point shots in 1000 minutes played, making 7 of them for 35.0%. He is also only a 62.3% free throw shooter. Most of his damage comes close to the hoop, and he is excellent as a short-roll passer. Peat has real international experience at a young age. He won his fourth junior international gold medal as part of Team USA at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup. He also won gold at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championship, and 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup. Koa Peat’s father is former NFL offensive lineman Todd Peat Sr., who played nine seasons in the league. With his strength, feel, passing, foul-drawing, and youth, Koa Peat is clearly interesting. The swing factor is whether the shooting develops enough for him to function as a true NBA small forward rather than a power player without an obvious offensive role.

Our best advice: in 2014, Bruno Caboclo was drafted 20th. We advised, "draft Kyle Anderson."
