LeBaron Philon is a right-handed point guard with a top-tier offensive game. Philon averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 39.9% from three-point range and 79.9% from the free throw line. He was named First Team All-SEC and finished second in SEC box score plus/minus despite poor defensive metrics. At 6'3" with a 6'6.25" wingspan and a 176-pound frame, Philon is on the small side for a NBA point guard. That size concern is magnified by his defensive numbers. His DDiff was minus -3.7. He will need to get stronger and become more consistent defensively to hold up against NBA guards. Offensively, however, Philon is one of the more exciting guards in this draft. He has some flair to his game, including the occasional no-look pass, shake-and-dance ball handling, and the ability to set up bursts or step-back jumpers. He is right-handed but uses his left well enough to finish. Philon is excellent running pick-and-roll, has a variety of floaters that he uses effectively in the paint, and is difficult to keep out of the lane. He posted a 2.06-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio for his career, showing enough command to function as a true lead guard. Philon jumped a 35" max vertical at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. We really love his offensive game, and we believe that part of his profile has a chance to be top tier in the NBA. The defensive concerns and smaller frame are real, but Philon’s shot-making, creativity, pick-and-roll craft, and ability to touch the paint make him a tough cover for any opponent.

Our best advice: in 2021, Tre Mann was drafted 18th. We advised, "draft Jalen Johnson."
