Malik Reneau is a left-handed forward with post moves, power, and the ability to drive and score. Reneau averaged 18.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season at Miami while shooting 54.0% from the field, 34.7% from three-point range, and 78.8% from the free throw line. He was named First Team All-ACC and finished tenth in ACC box score plus/minus. At 6'8" with a 6'10.5" wingspan and a 238-pound frame, Reneau has NBA positional size as a small forward, though his game is more power-oriented than most wings. He has good hands, plays with force near the basket, and does not seem to mind contact when trying to score. Reneau’s dribble-drive game is tough to stop, and he can also make plays out of the short roll. He gets to the free throw line often, which is one of the stronger indicators in his offensive profile. ... The concern is decision-making. Reneau had more turnovers than assists, and tunnel vision is the biggest worry. He is left-hand dominant and needs to continue improving with his right hand. Defensively, his DDiff was minus-0.3, which is not damaging but also not a plus. He posted a 32.5" max vertical at the G League Elite Camp. Reneau played three seasons at Indiana before finishing with one season at Miami. He was also All-Tournament at the Portsmouth Invitational. We do not think Reneau will be drafted. We believe he should be. He showed improvement as a deep shooter, has a knack for scoring, and brings enough size, strength, and offensive skill to deserve a real NBA look.

Our best advice: in 2016, Petr Cornelie was drafted 53rd. We advised, "draft Gary Payton II."
