Emanuel Sharp is a right-handed shooting guard with toughness, deep range, and a team-first approach. Sharp averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game at Houston. He was named First Team All-Big 12 and finished eighth in Big 12 box score plus/minus. Sharp’s real skill is accurate shooting. He made 37.2% from three-point range this season and led the Big 12 at 89.1% from the free throw line. He also finished third in career Big 12 free throw percentage. Sharp has deep range on his jumper, and he competes hard enough to stay connected to winning basketball. At 6'3" with a 6'3" wingspan and 208 pounds, Sharp is small for a NBA shooting guard. He has significantly less wingspan than even the average NBA Playoffs point guard, and that lack of length would likely be amplified at the next level. He posted a 1.77-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, but his game is more shooting guard than point guard.
His DDiff was minus 3.3, and he jumped a 33" max vertical at the NBA Draft Combine. It is not that he does not try on defense. He really does compete. Active hands. He hustles, plays hard, and is willing to step in and take a charge. Despite the poor defensive numbers, he was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. The issue is that he just does not have much length. Sharp played four seasons at Houston after a freshman redshirt season. We think he is a potential deep-bench guy, more of a fifth guard in the NBA. We believe he will be drafted early in round two, but the depth of the shooting guard position in the NBA is such that Sharp may get lost in the crowd. We would definitely let someone else draft him.

Our best advice: in 2024, Tidjane Salaun was drafted 6th. We advised, "draft Donovan Clingan."
